Paged DryGuard FR: The new standard in fire- and weather-resistant plywood

Paged is launching a unique and innovative plywood product, Paged DryGuard FR, which represents a breakthrough solution in the construction industry, combining advanced fire and moisture protection. The product is designed to meet the needs of customers who design and build in areas with high humidity and those who carry out public utility projects, among others, which require the highest safety standards.

Paged DryGuard FR is a unique construction solution based on modern technology developed by the Paged LabTech R&D team and the technology and operations teams at Paged Morąg.

DryGuard FR plywood is the result of Paged’s many years of experience in the production of non-flammable plywood and the research and work of our specialists, who have worked hard to bring fire and moisture resistant plywood to the market. It is plywood that provides safety without compromise. To our knowledge, Paged is the only plywood manufacturer in the world to have developed, certified and launched such a unique and market-demanded solution, emphasizes Ewelina Depczyńska, R&D Director and President of Paged LabTech. Paged DryGuard FR means safety, durability, and versatility in construction. We are confident that it will become the new standard in the industry, adds Depczyńska.

Key features of Paged DryGuard FR:

  • Water resistance: The plywood has a water-repellent coating that minimizes moisture absorption (PN-EN 927-5). It does not require additional protection against rain, which reduces costs and speeds up project completion.
  • Fire resistance: It has the highest fire reaction class for wood, B-s1, d0 (EN 13501-1), which guarantees safety in public and commercial spaces.
  • Mold protection: The coating effectively protects against the growth of fungi, which supports healthy conditions of use (PN-EN 927-3).
  • UV protection: The coating provides increased protection against UV radiation. As a result, surface cracking is reduced compared to raw plywood. In addition, the red color characteristic of DryGuard FR does not fade, which reduces the risk of confusion when using several types of plywood on a construction site.
  • Lightweight and durable: Made of pine wood, Paged DryGuard FR is exceptionally lightweight, which facilitates installation, while at the same time offering high structural strength.
  • Ease of design: The new plywood has undergone specialized testing for strength and rigidity of roof and floor coverings at the Łukasiewicz Research Network — Wood Technology Institute, confirming its suitability for structural applications.
  • Certificate of constancy of performance: The product has been certified by an independent notified body (AVCP 1 Assessment and Verification System for Constancy of Performance).
  • Ecology: The plywood is made from certified wood sourced from sustainable forests in the Baltic Sea region (FSC, PEFC). Low formaldehyde and VOC emissions make the product environmentally friendly. It has a Type III Environmental Product Declaration (EPD).
  • Vapor permeability: The plywood has low diffusion resistance, allowing water vapor to pass through.

Key applications

Paged DryGuard FR has been designed for:

  • public utility construction, such as schools, hotels, shopping centers, hospitals, airports, and subway stations,
  • commercial construction, including warehouses, production halls, and data centers,
  • residential construction, such as residential houses, modular and mobile homes, and summer cottages,
  • wooden structures, as wall and ceiling panels (CE1).

Installation options and additional features:

Paged DryGuard FR is easy to install:

  • Tongue-and-groove (T&G) joints facilitate and speed up installation and ensure structural stability by allowing the panels to be laid in a uniform surface, eliminating the “keyboard effect.”
  • CNC cutting and machining allow for precise adaptation of formats and shapes to project requirements, which greatly facilitates integration.
