We are pleased to announce our new production line, which not only increases Paged’s capabilities but is also more environmentally friendly. Its opening was linked to the expansion and modernization of the Estonian machine park at the Paged Eesti plant.
This plant, formerly known as Valmos, sold 100% of its shares, thus joining the Paged group at the turn of 2017-2018.
The opening of the second production line enables us to produce 110,000 m3 of birch bark per year. The improved process of sorting bark by moisture content increases the efficiency of raw material extraction, while the auto-calibration system (Smart Scan HD) and 3D scanner improve the quality of raw material processing. As a result, the new production line has reduced the environmental footprint by approximately 1.3% per m2 of bark surface area.
The investment in the second line has enabled us to expand the offer of the Paged brand. The maximum format length is 3.6 m, which allows us to serve new market segments. In addition, as part of the process of improving the company’s operational efficiency, we have improved the product packaging and distribution system. The newly introduced Pallet Infeed System enables us to ship and transport orders even faster.
The new peeler, like the previous machines we have purchased, was manufactured by RAUTE. It is a proven supplier of modern technological solutions for the wood industry.
